My most dramatic discovery in North Devon this year has been the stunning Valley of Rocks along the north Devon coast near Lynton, well worth a visit if you’re over that way.
I used to love heights when I was young but these days not so much! I wasn’t brave enough to climb to the top like some of the other people did and I was quite relieved to be back on safe ground again filming these lovely goats!
A couple of days ago we were in Exmoor again in the pretty village of Dulverton to visit the Heritage Centre and book shops.
There was a particular bookshop I wanted to see called Seven Fables. I’d heard how beautiful the shop was and that it sold art materials. Sounded perfect!
I didn’t buy anything in there because it was a little bit expensive for impulse buys but it certainly was a very beautiful shop!
I did however buy a second hand book from the Heritage Centre, ‘The Diary of a Nobody’ written in 1892 by brothers George and Weedon Grossmith.
Only £2🙌
It’s a fictional diary of an ordinary man living in London during the late victorian period and the day to day things that happen to him. I thought it would be an interesting insight into life at that time.
My copy is the 1984 edition so the illustrations aren’t the original ones by Weedon which is a shame but then again I looked up the original copy and it’s on sale for £1000 so I can’t complain can I.😆
It turned out to be quite a hot day so we ended our visit with a sit down on a bench by the bridge. There were a lot of children cooling down, having fun in the river. You might be able to hear their voices on the video!
Looks like you have been having nice days exploring Jess 💕 love the watercolour painting, very different from what usually show here, it has your pink tho 😊 p.s.- I was very adventurer when I was a child, now I'm afraid of heights!!! 😆
